Well this amazing idea has just taken away some serious festive mum guilt for me! A socially distanced Makaton-using Santa.

Thought this might be of interest to our shielding friends this year.

🎅HO HO HO.... We’re ready to go! 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼
    Book here➡️ bookwhen.com/signingsanta

Our Makaton Friendly Singing Signing Santa understands that this is a special time for the children in our lives and know that many of you will miss the magic and opportunity to visit him due to social distancing, avoiding mixing with others, in a different tier or shielding due to medical reasons. 😞

On our ‘Signing Santa Zoom Calls’ your child can chat to Santa, let him know what's on their Christmas list and sign and sing a song (if they want!) just like they would when coming to the Grotto.

When purchasing your ticket you will be asked for additional information so that Santa can personalise the session for your child and make it even more special!
(Including if your child requires Santa to use Makaton signing)

These sessions will happen via ZOOM (zoom.us)

    ‼️IF YOU REQUIRE A LONGER SESSION‼️
Please email us @ taysidemakatonchoir@gmail.com and we will try our best to accommodate you.

    ‼️SCHOOLS‼️
It may be possible to add 'school days' which would most likely be on FRIDAYS. If this is something you'd like - please email us!

    Carer Mental Health

On Tuesday of last week I sat in my car in the pouring rain taking a scheduled call from NHS talking therapies. It was essentially a triage service to see what they could do for me. The lady on the other end of the call gently asked what had caused me to reach out for help. I told her that…

    Hippy New Year

I can’t remember the last time I sat down to write a blog. Actually I can, I can remember many times when I’ve sat down and the words just didn’t come. It’s not as if there hasn’t been anything to say. So much has happened in the last year, so much that I intended to write about. I’d planned to…

    Seven years of HoPE

Mojo is completely in love with the George Ezra song Shotgun (who isn’t right?). We’ve taught ourselves the Makaton for the chorus, Mojo can sound out the ends of the chorus sentences and the ‘yeah’ lines. We’ve had it on repeat for weeks. I think that the reason we both love it so much is the joy it evokes. It’s…

    Under the Surface

At the hospital we went to while I was pregnant there is an underground car park. Many of the memories I have from the bleakest days of my pregnancy are fuzzy or even misremembered but the memory of that car park is visceral. Thinking about it now makes my heart beat faster. The psychological impact of descending into the darkness,…
